DMC&H Celebrates Women's Day with Special Initiatives for Antenatal Women
On the occasion of International Women's Day, the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Department of Dietetics at DMC&H in association with IAPEN Ludhiana Chapter organized a special event to honour antenatal women and promote good nutritional practices in antenatal women. Gift hampers were distributed to expectant mothers in both the OPD and the ward, symbolizing care and support for their well-being during pregnancy.
As part of the celebrations, a unique book titled "First Book of Our Baby" was launched by by Sh. Bipin Gupta, Secretary, DMC&H Managing Society, Sh Mukesh Verma treasurer, DMC&H Managing Society along with Dr. Ashima Taneja, Professor & Head Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology and her team. This special book, designed to capture and preserve precious memories of the baby, aims to create a lasting bond between mother and child.
The event was made possible through the collaborative efforts of Dr. Suman Puri (Professor & Unit Head) Dr. Sunil Juneja (Professor), Dr. Pooja Tondon (Professor), Dr. Swati Jain (Assistant Professor) Dr. Muskan Chaudhary(Assistant Professor), Dr. Surbhi Handa (Assistant Professor) and Dr. Roop Rishma (Assistant Professor) and other support staff from Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. To promote good nutritional practices in antenatal women hampers were also distributed at Urban Health Centre, Shimlapuri in the presence of Dr Sukriti Gupta, Attending Consultant also.
Speaking on the occasion, Sh. Bipin Gupta highlighted, "DMC&H has always prioritized maternal and child health. This initiative reflects our ongoing commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of both mother and child. By promoting safe motherhood, we are securing the future of families and communities."
Dr. Ashima Taneja stated that, "We are delighted to provide these hampers to our antenatal patients and release 'First Book of Our Baby,' which will allow mothers to cherish every milestone of their baby's journey.
Shaveta Batta, Chief Dietitian, DMC&H also said that we aim to create a supportive environment for our mothers, ensuring they feel cared for at every step of their pregnancy."
